The region of Eastern Slovakia has long been known for its IT sector, which employs more people than any other sector in Košice. With every arrival of new technologies it comes to disruptive changes. This also results into disappearance of jobs in case of monotonous and repetitive activities, but at the same time new ones are created. The World Economic Forum presumes that up to 52 percent of jobs will be replaced by machines and artificial intelligence by 2025. Is the arrival of AI a benefit or a loss for Slovak society and the local economy? What must political leaders do to ensure that the arrival of new technologies is for our country as painless as possible? Are local companies able to compete on the global market and what advanced technological solutions do they offer?
